We share insights at ScienceTeX and what is in the pipeline.
If your reading, this welcome back! It's been a while since we have posted something on the blog, but that's because we have been really busy with school and other projects. As always, we are most grateful to the amazing parents, the hard-working students, and all of our additional instructors who are helping expand and reach more students. That being said, this post outlines all of the future developments we are working on to help students further and reach more people.
So Where Do We Begin?
It's been a while since we have posted anything, but umm, we are working on our next data report, and we promise it's going to be the best one yet, as it represents and compares the 1A/1B batch versus the 2A/2B batch and highlights how ScienceTeX is constantly improving the quality of lessons and teaching to boost student performance and further remarks. Stay tuned for that, but for now, this post talks about many things that has changed at ScienceTeX since our last article.
As of now, ScienceTeX has taught over 90+ students, and now with the re-designed SuperPortal, that number is extending beyond live instruction.
Oh, did we officially also mention? We teach nearly 4 batches of classes these days, and have additional instructors to make this possible.
We also have some things under-development which will be later in this article.
So, now let's detail things specifically and go in depth!
First: The Re-Designed SuperPortal!
Check out this glorious SuperPortal! Easy Interface galore!
What's New with the Portal?
In case, you weren't aware, the SuperPortal recieved a massive update around 3 weeks ago!
This update effectively brought the SuperPortal up-to-date, and introduced a new way to interact and use the digital content that we produce for students. This SuperPortal also debuts a easier to use interface powered by an actual LMS to help students find content with ease and have a easier time learning.
This portal features videos, articles, animations, lesson recordings and more! Eventually, we plan on adding interactive games, simulations and intuitive animations. We also are adding content in the Portal that is beyond just the class content, to help our ardent learners gain more knowledge beyond just the classes.
This portal is eventually in the works to be completely designed into something that non-class goers can also use and benefit from. This portal represents countless hours of work for the betterment of students.
Next: The Second Batch
If you weren't aware already, we now have a second batch (2A/2B). This class was enacted in the second week of January and is taught with 4 new instructors. However, we do still apply and keep careful watch of these batches to insure the teaching is up to our standards.
That being said, we are applying fixes in this second batch to ensure students learn with higher efficiency and better understanding of the content. These batches are taught on Tuesday at 4-5pm and Wednesday at 6-7pm to accommodate the different time-zones our students come from.
Our awesome instructors and the hard-working students in class!
And if you are curious, yes. We are working on getting a batch 3A/3B Soon. More details will be posted as that comes closer nearby.
Finally: All The Updates To The Lesson Formula
At ScienceTeX, we are constantly trying to improve our lessons for peak student efficiency and understanding, and we have made countless changes since starting teaching to improve student understanding. From switching from PowerPoints to E-Whiteboards, to live quizzing, we have made many changes.
The biggest new improvement we have made is using Digital Animations. These according to our student performance and research has improved student's understanding of hard concepts by nearly 30%*
These animations, help students understand content that is only harder and more complex, but it also helps brings multiple concepts together for more cohesive understanding, just like how Biology is structured. Biology isn't complete without chemistry, and just like that, we are able to bring concepts together.
Take a sample of a an animation, and you'll understand why students understand things better. Students like things that are pleasing to the eyes and easily watchable, and this applies here.
This animation made teaching a complex biological process; RNA Translation, easier to understand and comprehend. This process has nearly 10+ Transcription factors and is very hard to comprehend, but ScienceTeX students have no trouble with this due to these animations and such.
Finally our second big introduction, is that we are now using Gimkit when teaching. We have found that students often like the high levels of gamification that it brings, and students really enjoy learning when using it.
Final Remarks: Bright Things Ahead
So, as we wrap up this article, it marks nearly 10 months since the inception of ScienceTeX, and we have been extremely happy and taken aback by how much students and parents love it. We hope to keep this up for a long time, and grow ScienceTeX into something huge. With all of that being said, we say thanks to our parents, hard-working students, and everyone else involved, without you all ScienceTeX wouldn't be possible.
One last thing, we also wanted to share this kind clip of a student giving her true feelings about ScienceTeX, and we think its the kindest thing a student has done yet.
With all of that being said, you can expect a lot from us going forward, like a even better SuperPortal, more classes, and more data from us soon! Once, again thanks for reading!
